Split the colors into their own opposite corners. The first skater in each line skates around the circle, picks up a puck and then proceeds through a 4-cone straight weave. The last cone is placed to force the skater towards the center of the ice for a shot on net. Encourage skaters to shoot between the dots and the top of the slot. When the skater gets to the last (step-out) cone, send the next skater by whistle. Switch sides and repeat.
Form 2 lines of separate colors against the boards – lines should start no lower than the blue lines. First skater in line skates forward to the cone, transitions backwards to second cone, steps out, picks up a puck just above the blue line and shoots (again between the dots and the top of the slot). When finished, skaters line up against opposite boards. When the skater shoots, send the next skater by whistle. Switch sides and repeat.
Form 2 lines of separate colors similar to Drill #2. First skater in line skates forward towards the crease and performs a transition to get back up-ice (a.k.a “Hook and slide”). Skater receives a pass from a COACH from below the crease, to the side of the net. When the skater receives the pass they will step off the boards and skate towards the neutral zone, giving a pass to another COACH who will then return the pass to the skater (*NOTE: the coach in the Neutral zone may have to move a lot to compensate for the timing in receiving the pass from the skater). After receiving the pass from the COACH in the Neutral zone, the skater will then give a pass to the COACH below the crease and then get it back for a shot on net. When skaters have completed the drill, next skater begins by whistle. Switch sides and repeat.
Form 2 lines of separate colors on opposite blue lines. On the whistle, the first skater in each line skates an exaggerated loop around the center circle, receives a pass from a COACH and proceeds to a shot on net. The skater receives the pass from the COACH on their same side. Next skater begins when first skater receives the pass from COACH.
