The RIIA (also known as the Ruoho International Ice Arena will be open for business on Monday the 21st from Noon until 4pm, because we have practice at 5:15. We will also be open on Tuesday the 29th all day and Thursday the 31 all day. All day here is defined as from 12 noon until your legs cramp so bad you can’t move and you have had so much hot chocolate you feel like a brownie. RIIA has a wonderful locker room facility adjacent to the rink itself consisting of a Bench to comfortably get your skates on while gazing longingly at the smooth sheet of ice. There is a fire next to the locker room to reheat your hands and toes and relax between on ice sessions of hockey, pompom pull-a-way and tag. The snack bar is always open with a bottomless cup of Hot Coco. The onsite medical facility consists of a phone, for serious injury and a bathroom for instant relief. Access to the heated portions of the facility will be allowed if necessary although for some odd reason the Television, Xbox and computer systems are always down during the RIIA’s hours of operation. Friends and relatives are welcome to use the RIIA facilities as well for a one time use fee of a smile. The staff, membership and Facilities manager, David “The Great Wall” Ruoho hope you will enjoy your time with us. Travel to the arena is available in emergencies. An emergency is defined here as “I tried calling everyone and I can’t get a ride!” The Rink tram can make a scheduled stop, BUT you MUST CALL ahead to make the appointment! The rink phone number is 612-770-1805 and the rink address is 7011 46th Av. N. Crystal, MN. 55428. We are 3 blocks South of the New Hope Arena and 3 blocks North of the New Hope Bowl and just East of Louisiana Av on 46th AVENUE (not 46th PLACE.)
