Austin wins the face-off to Troy, Jake does a nice job pushing the play, and Jordan dumps it in the zone. Austin covers for Jake on defense, and after the play returns to our zone, Austin carries the puck out of the zone and we're back in our normal positions. Corey is caught in a 2 on 1 and has to contest the puck carrier, who then passes to the open guy in front. Ryan saves the day with a save on a point-blank shot.
Ryan plays the puck a couple times helping his team break out of the zone. Jake pushes the puck up and later Ben carries it coast to coast after a scramble in front. Ben shoots and Jordan crashes the net. Corey ends up with a shot from the slot that the goalie loses sight of, but ultimately stops it between his legs.
Patrick takes off from the face-off in our zone and beats their defenseman for a good scoring chance. Notice how Patrick's feet never stop moving the entire time! This is from the game on 1/5th vs. OMG.
This video has a lot of good things happen: - Jake makes a nice breakout pass to Patrick to start us off - Ben hustles on the backcheck and blocks a shot - Jake flips the puck and clears it from in front and out of the zone - Corey is aggressive from his d position and gets a couple scoring chances, including a shot from the point where Patrick is there for any potential rebound
This is a good example of using the body by Troy and Austin. You can see Troy make a hit at neutral zone, and the key is he bumps the guy off the puck and recovers it. Austin then uses his body in the offensive zone to create a turnover. The play ends poorly for Patrick as he takes a big hit and draws a penalty vs OMG on 1.5.10.
Patrick gets the goal here vs. OMG, but Ben helps him by supporting him going into the zone. The play starts behind our net with a pass around the boards and an assist to Corey. In this video, everyone (Jake, Ban, CJ, Patrick and Corey are in the correct positions). Patrick proves that any shot on net is a good shot on net! The goal comes from the bottom of the face-off circle.
