Purpose and Goal of the HDC:
The Armstrong Cooper Youth Hockey Association Hockey Development Committee will be responsible for all on ice and off ice player development as well as coaching development. In all aspects, this separate committee will report to the ACYHA Board for approval.
The primary goal of the HDC is to create an environment for our players that gives each of them the best opportunity to develop the following traits as hockey players:
- Highly skilled
- Intelligent
- Competitive
- Creative
- Passionate
The ACYHA HDC believes in promoting a puck possession style of hockey and will strive to implement a training curriculum based on USA hockey’s ADM principles to reinforce the physical and mental attributes needed to excel in this style of play.
This will be accomplished within the ACYHA’s overall mission, which is as follows:
The primary purpose of the Armstrong Cooper Youth Hockey Association is to give kids, regardless of their age and athletic ability, an opportunity to develop playing skills and game knowledge in a safe and fun environment, and to promote enjoyment for youth families
