Question: How do I pay for the season?
Answer: At registration you can pay for the entire season or choose a payment plan. The payment plan installments are due in the following schedule. One payment at Registration and the balance of the fees split over the following three dates. These funds are billed automatically to the billing method selected at registration (credit card).

Question: What does my season hockey fee include?
Answer: Your fee for the season includes:
1. (3) In Season Tournaments
2. (1) End of Season District Tournament
3. Preseason Camp Ice and Coaching
4. District Games and Referees
5. Ice Time for Practice and Home Games
6. Use of Association Game Jerseys
7. Use of Practice Jerseys and other Association Equipment

Question: What else can I expect to pay?
Answer: Team Fees would be the only other expense you would incur for the year. This is NOT an association expense. This is managed and collected by your assigned team manager. Each individual team is assigned a checkbook and manages a budget for ancillary Team Expenses.
Examples of Ancillary Team Fees: Extra Tournaments, Referees for Scrimmages, Extra Hours of Ice not assigned by the Association, Non Parent Coach Expenses, Team Parties, Team/Coach's Apparel, and other Team Related activity expenses.
These total expenses are divided by the number of families on the team and paid to the team checkbook. The average is somewhere between $150 and $300 per player. These team fees are in addition to your Hockey Season Fee.

Question: How long does the travel season run?
Answer: The season runs from September to February/March.
Evaluations will be starting:
Bantam: Early October
Peewee: Early October
Squirt: Early November
12U: Middle of October
10U: Early November

Question: How often do the travel teams practice?
Answer: Squirts/U10 practice an average of three to four times per week.
Peewees/U12 practice an average of four to five times per week.
Bantams/U14 practice an average of five to six times per week.

Question: At what level do I register my child?
Answer: Players must register according to their birth date.

Mite (All Levels) 7/1/02 to 6/30/07

Question: Who participates and what are the evaluation for?
Answer: All players who register for travel hockey must participate in the evaluation/ try-out process. Based on the evaluation, skaters and goalies are placed on a team that best matches their abilities.

Question: Do I need the players’ birth certificate to register?
Answer: Yes. According to USA Hockey rules, we cannot complete a registration without a copy oft he players’ official birth certificate. Hospital or baptismal certificates cannot be accepted. If you registered your child with AYHA or CYHA last year, we will have a birth certificate on file. If you are new to the program, USA Hockey requires us to get and keep a copy of the child’s birth certificate before processing the registration forms.

Question: What Hockey Equipment is needed?
Answer: Players are required to wear the following Equipment:
Certified Helmet (white for Travel level)
Shin pads
Elbow pads
Shoulder pads
Breezers (red for Travel level)
Mouth guard
Skates

Cup or Pelvic Protector

Question: Are Scholarships available?
Answer: Limited scholarship funds are available for families needing special financial consideration. The ACYHA Board will approve all scholarships. Please note that a family’s participation in the school’s reduced/free lunch program is the prime criteria for scholarship consideration. Contact Kevin Conway, ACYHA Director with questions.
