Travel Team Manager

Team Manager Requirements

To be a Team Manager, you must complete the following requirements:

All Locker Room Monitors must complete steps 1-4

1) Register as a Volunteer on USA Hockey under the 'Managers/Volunteers'
2) Register as a Volunteer on ACYHA website
3) Do the Background Screening
4) Complete the SafeSport training                                                         
5) Submit contact form for D3 as a manager

 


LOCKER ROOM POLICY

The ACYHA locker room policy is intended to protect players and coaches while promoting a team environment.  Questions should be directed to the ACYHA SafeSport representative.

It is the responsiblity of the Head Coach to ensure players are appropriately supervised in the locker rooms.

Coaches and team managers, ensure you and your supervising adults are familiar with the attached guidelines, i.e. no cell phones in locker rooms, etc.


ACYHA Travel Team Manager Instructions for Website Access & Support...

  • To obtain editing access over specific pages of the site, i.e. your Team's Pages, you need create a web site account.
  • If you have not already created an account for the web site, please click on the “Create an Account” link in the upper left corner of the page.
  • Enter a unique Username and Password for yourself (please write this down and keep track of it) and click “Sign Up”.
  • Follow the steps to "Activate" your account.
  • You will then want to send an email the ACYHA webmaster.
  • Send a brief message letting him/her know that you have signed up at the site - include your name, team name, position with the team and contact number.
  • If approved, you will then be granted permission to access your team’s home page(s) on the web site. The team’s pages are found under the Teamsection of the site.
  • After permission has been granted, you will receive a confirmation reply. Then you can login, go to your team’s page and begin editing the content.
  • When logged in and going to your team’s pages, you will see the “Edit Mode” tab in the upper right corner. You may also click on the “Site Admin" tab on top and then the "My Pages” tab to view a site map. The pages that you have Editing permission over will be highlighted.
  • Click on the “Edit Mode” tab and use the “Page Elements” to edit or add Text, Photos, Documents, Events, News Articles, Links, Contact Info, YouTube Videos, etc.
  • Please note that your Team pages came defaulted with Roster and Stats pages. These pages default to "Disabled" and are not active until you "Enable" them to make them public. You are able to use these pages at your discretion.
  • You may also “Add New Pages” under your team’s main page section to organize additional content.
  • If you need any help with any of the Page Elements, the first step you can take click on the "Help & Updates" button at the top of the page or click the following link http://help.sportngin.com/

IMPORTANT INFO ABOUT TEAM CALENDARS

Managers:  It is imperative that you DO NOT delete or change ice times on your team calendar that is scheduled.  Ice times will be automatically pushed out from the Ice Scheduler.

If you want to add information to your team calendar, (i.e. tournaments, scrimmages, game day volunteers, etc.), add a new separate event from the ice time.

If you delete the ice time (especially shared ice with another team), it will also remove it from that team's calendar.


Team Emergency Contact Information

At the direction of the ACYHA board, as team manager(s), we ask that you solicit emergency contact information from the parents/guardians, complete the Team Emergency Contact Information template attached below, and distribute laminated or protected copies as follows:

·         1 copy in team puck bag and/or first aid kit
·         1 copy to each coach
·         1 copy in manager book

It is critical you solicit this contact information directly from the parents/guardians at this time for this purpose; do not rely on registration information.  You may pre-populate the form with info you have and ask them to confirm.

The purpose of this exercise is to have this contact information in several locations that are quickly accessible to the coaching staff in the event of an injury/emergency.

Deadline:  Information should be distributed no later than two weeks after teams are formed.


Player Patches/Player Achievement Patches

USA Hockey has a Player Patch program to recognize players achievements over the season. If you have a player on your team that is eligible for an award - please complete the form below and submit it to the ACYHA Secretary who will ensure it gets to the monthly District 3 meetings.  Patches will be sent back with your district rep and then passed along to you.  Please read the form carefully and submit all required information along with the form.

Player Achievement Awards

  • Zero Award - For a goalkeeper playing a complete game without allowing a goal

  • Hat Trick Award - For a player scoring three goals in a game

  • Playmaker Award - For a player registering three assists in a game
    The awards are distributed under the following conditions: 

  • 1. The recipient is a registered and rostered player.
    2. The game was in league competition (not scrimmage or exhibition), a sanctioned tournament or a MN Hockey playoff involving only USA Hockey registered teams.
    3. The game was officiated by registered USA Hockey referees and they have signed the score sheet. 

4. Eligible player categories: All players 10U Youth/10U Girls and above.
5. Limit of ONE of each award per player per season - i.e. one Hat Trick, one Playmaker and one Zero

Referee Scrimmage Request

Use the below link to schedule referees for scrimmages. Fees for these scrimmages are to be paid by check directly to the officials form the requesting teams checkbook.
 
Requests for referees must be submitted a minimum of five days prior to the event.  ALL D3 LEAGUE GAMES ALREADY HAVE OFFICIALS ASSIGNED

Cancellation or Reschedule of D3 League Games

D3 will not allow games changes for added tournaments  - If you have a game on a weekend you would like to add a tournament your request will be denied.

Examples of reasons for game reschedules.

  • School Event - Please list the School and the Event and Grade
  • Sickness/Injuries
  • Religious Events
