This is an award to honor our daughter for a sport she loved so much. It is not intended for the best player, or the most improved, although they may be one & the same. It is for the player who enjoys the game of hockey for the simple fun of the game. Carla was not a good hockey player. In fact, to turn she would sometimes use her stick as a rudder. The boards were her friend because she then stopped going forward. She was a mother hen to the younger players, & enjoyed the pizza parties with the players as much as the game itself. We congratulate this year’s winner & hope you enjoy the hockey camp as much as Carla would have.” The Berg Families

Coach Zejdlik's team (the Mpls Moose) won the 50+ division 7-3 for back-to-back championships of the "Golden Shovel". They have won 3 of the last 4 years. Zed was on the bench (snow bank) with broken fingers coaching and cheering on his team in the final game.
There were 20 teams in the 50+ division, including former North Stars, Gophers, Fighting Saints and a sizable number of former college players. The Moose won all six of their games to take the championship and win the vaunted Golden Shovel.
Congratulations to the Zejdlik's.
