All Board positions are found on the ACYHA Board website. All Board positions must be filled annually to keep the association running smoothly. Board positions earn full DIBS hours (and may also earn additional monetary compensation) for their role.
Mite managers are awarded 5 DIBS hours per team of 8-12 skaters. The benefit of being a mite manager is that most of the work can be done at home vs working a specific shift at the rink.
Each Travel team is awarded 25 DIBS hours to split between Team Manager(s) and Scrimmage Coordinators. These hours shall be agreed upon between co-managers and approved by the Board Secretary the week that teams are formed. Team co-manager hours will be entered as Regular hours. However, if a manager is awarded their full 25 hours of DIBS, then their Special Events minimum requirement will be considered complete. Note: Scrimmage Coordinator hours MAY come from the coaching hour pool as determined by the Head Coach and ACE Director.
Mite coaches that are on the ice 75% of the practices/pond hockey days, as determined by the Director Hockey Ops for Mites, will earn their full DIBS.
Each Travel team receives a pool of 60 hours to be split amongst coaches (and possibly the Scrimmage Coordinator) as determined by the team's head coach and ACE Director. 20 hours are deducted from the hour pool for each paid coach on the team. Coaching hours will be entered as Regular hours. However, if a coach is awarded their full 25 hours of DIBS, then their Special Events minimum requirement will be considered complete.
Full DIBS + $1,500 paid (or credit toward hockey fees) position for being a shift manager at the concession stand.
Work concession shifts at the New Hope Ice Arena concession booth by selling food and beverages.
Sell Raffle Tickets for Jamboree Baskets
Announce Player Names before a game. Announce when a player scores. Announce Names at the medal ceremony.
Run clock by buzzing for player change-ups ever 60-90 seconds.
Attend 2-3 Mite Recruitment meetings. Assist at parades and community events. Assist at Try Hockey for Free and Learn to Skate clinic check-in tables.
Recruit new players at Back to School Table for a local school.
Check in Try Hockey for Free participants for the clinic.
Hand out helmets/sticks for Try Hockey for Free participants.
